Gissons Hotel by OYO Rooms

At 11pm on a Friday, Sherwyn answered the phone and helped me find a last-minute overnight stop in their carpark in my motorhome. Most places wouldn’t even answer at that hour. He was so helpful and didn’t ask for anything in return. He even offered to enter my registration number in the parking eye system so I wouldn’t have to do it in the morning. The bar and restaurant were shut for refurbishment, so I’d offered to eat and drink there the next morning as a thank you. The staff were lovely and polite, and went well beyond what I expected to make the stay relaxed and comfortable. Great location too. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit!

Erica made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. She was warm, attentive, and always ready to help. When my little one started feeling unwell, probably with a cold picked up at the airport, Erica moved us to a quieter, more comfortable room, even though the room we’d booked was already lovely. The Gissons Hotel is charming, but Erica is what made it feel like a home away from home. My little one and I came from the United States to stay near Exeter and see friends, and the Gissons was affordable, friendly, and welcoming. I’ve never written a review before, but I wanted to share how well cared for we felt. Whether you’re travelling quickly or coming with children, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Huge thanks to Erica. We’ll definitely be back!

We were upgraded from a twin to a spacious double, and the room was spotless and comfortable. It had everything we needed, including hair and body wash, hand wash, a hairdryer, an extra heater, and two electric fans. Though it’s close to Exeter Airport, the room was surprisingly quiet with the excellent triple glazing. We had a very pleasant one-night stay at Gissions Hotel. Alika was especially lovely and helpful throughout. We’d happily recommend the hotel. Thank you!

Erika looked after me so well during my stay. She made me feel at home from the start, and was always friendly and helpful. My room was consistently tidy, with fresh towels. When I had a parking issue, she went above and beyond to sort it out. You don’t find many people around there offering 5 stars service. Thank you, Erika.
