I won't be coming back, especially with all the choices Exeter has. I booked a table through the app for Saturday lunch for five, and got a confirmation plus two reminders. I even replied to make sure I wouldn't miss the restaurant booking. When we arrived, we were told it was only a drinks table. There was also a big booking, so the chef couldn't serve us food for another 30 to 45 minutes. It left me wondering if our table had been pushed aside for the larger group. Really disappointing.

Breakfast was outstanding, and Exeter Cathedral and the restaurants are only about a five-minute walk away. Parking was easy too. We only spent one night here, and I wish we could've stayed longer. The rooms were great and everyone was friendly and helpful. I especially liked the little details: the air cooler was already running when we got there, and the toiletries, bedding and pillows were all high quality. Thanks for such a lovely stay. If we're back in Exeter, this is where I'll go.

I stayed at SouthernHay House Hotel for three days, first the night before my wedding with my Maid of Honour, then on my wedding night with my husband. The whole stay was perfection, and it became such a special memory for us. Everyone on staff was warm and welcoming, and shared in the celebration. The room was superb and breakfast was exceptional. I'll never forget it.

We arrived late, when everything was closed, and they had a plate of cheese ready for us. Such a nice touch. The staff were really friendly, and I'd happily go back.

Lily at reception was so helpful and exceptional all around. We spent two lovely nights at the Southernhay House Hotel, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent.
