We usually visit Exeter most years and have stayed in a big chain hotel before, but this time we tried Raffles and loved it. Our upstairs room welcomed dogs and had loads of character, a comfy bed, kettle, and plenty of tea and coffee. The shower room was nice, with lots of towels. Breakfast was good, and my husband especially enjoyed the excellent full English, the plentiful coffee and lovely toast. We’ll book here again next time we’re in Exeter.

We came to Raffles for a Christmas shopping weekend and would definitely stay again. Rachel and the team were warm, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and the city centre was only a short walk away. Our room was spacious, traditionally furnished, with a good shower and comfortable beds. The house itself is a lovely Edwardian villa filled with antiques and gorgeous wallpaper. There are a few steps in and around the property, though staff offered to help with bags if needed.

The old Victorian building has lots of original features, and we had a lovely room and breakfast with great service. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and made us feel right at home. A great place to stay when visiting Exeter.

We’ll certainly come back next time we’re in Exeter. The gardens looked beautiful in daylight, with wildflowers including bluebells and wild garlic. We had a large, clean room with a big shower, TV and vintage furniture, plus cosy, comfortable beds that gave us a great night’s sleep. We arrived late and were greeted at the door by a friendly face. The charming decor and warm layout made us feel welcome straight away. Breakfast had hot choices as well as cereal, yogurt, preserves, juice and fresh cafetiere coffee. Everyone on staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Definitely a place to remember.

Breakfast was out of this world, and Daniel made a really tasty meal while knowing his stuff about gluten-free and vegetarian diets. Room 6 was incredibly comfortable and had everything needed for a short stay. A great time in Exeter.
