For the price, the single room was fairly cheap, had decent space, and was clean, comfortable and freshly fitted out with new carpet, towels and bedding. The location was convenient and parking easy. The shower was pretty weak, and you could hear pub music late, though that may come with the price and location. One thing to know: access to the room is by code. The very nice bar lady repeated it slowly and quite loudly in the corridor, which left me wondering who else had heard it and made me a little more conscious of security. It felt odd, so seemed fair to mention.

A welcome change from the usual chain hotels. The room was standard, but the hosts were excellent. Good choice for dinner, and a lovely breakfast.

The menu's got me coming back now, after someone suggested I try the food. It's really good, and there's plenty left for me to work my way through. I've spent lots of evenings here laughing, with live music and karaoke adding to the fun. The locals are friendly and the atmosphere's lively, especially on event nights or Saturdays. Food's good whenever, but midweek can feel quieter since it's a local pub.

We turned up at the last minute with our 16-month-old, and the team somehow got a room cleaned up for us in no time. They rustled up a lovely hot dinner and breakfast, and even found a baby cot with help from local villagers. The owners are such a lovely, helpful young couple. Service went well beyond what we expected, and I couldn't recommend the place more.

The bar staff were chatty and friendly, the place was clean, and everyone made us feel welcome. Kathy, who worked there occasionally, was especially nice, and my companions all loved their meals. I went for a roast after a busy day unpacking at our new house. It was cooked to order, so there was a bit of a wait, but the vegetables, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were lovely. The meat was too tough for me in places, so I left what I couldn't manage. There was beef, lamb or pork, but I can't eat pork and chicken wasn't on offer, so I was left with two choices. I wasn't really disappointed, though, and would return to try something more suitable next time.
