Mal made us feel right at home and was attentive throughout. Our room was roomy, clean and comfortable, with fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge. Breakfast was a lovely cooked meal, and Mal even made a sausage each for our dogs. This little B&B is also well placed for exploring York and nearby spots. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

My room was spotless, with all the amenities I needed and then some, including free mini chocolates and Sky TV. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and home cooked. The owner clearly works hard to make guests comfortable and was really lovely. I couldn’t fault the stay and would come back if I’m in York or nearby again.

Room 3 suited me perfectly as a solo traveller, and the price was very reasonable. I picked this B&B because I liked the village name and needed somewhere between Harrogate and Scarborough. Mal cooked breakfast to order, with choices to suit, and kindly suggested where to park when the drive was full. There were thoughtful touches in the room too. I’d recommend it for a stay in the area.

We spent five nights at Hillcroft and felt at home the whole time. The room was spotless and very comfortable, with nice extras like fresh flowers and chocolates. Mal gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, and his freshly cooked breakfasts set us up well for each day. We’d happily recommend staying here.

After the long drive we were shattered, but Mal welcomed us and our dog, then pointed us towards the local pub for dinner, just two minutes away, and Jubilee Park for a walk. He was such a friendly host, and we’ll definitely return. The room was spotless, spacious and had everything laid out for us. The bed was so comfortable, and at night we could only hear an owl, with no traffic. Breakfast was delicious too. What a find.
