Foy House

The proprietor was so nice, which makes this a difficult review. The rooms were just okay, meh. There’s no breakfast, but a packed lunch is left by the door for you on your way out in the morning. The sandwich had one very thin slice of ham and one of cheese. I’d have found that hilarious if I hadn’t been so hungry. To be fair, the bag also had a piece of fruit, chips, a chocolate bar and a juice box. Still, skip it. It’s not worth the money.

The house is nicely decorated, the rooms are clean and tidy, and it’s extremely quiet there. The host is the loveliest lady I’ve met in England. We’d stay again if we get the chance. Thank you for the sandwiches 🥪

We were well looked after, and the proprietor made us feel really welcome. It’s a comfortable, well-presented place to stay. Excellent in every respect, highly recommended.

We stayed on Friday 14th July while returning from the Eurotunnel, and Zoe, the owner, was really friendly and seemed to genuinely care about us. The hotel is close to the town centre but sits in a residential area, so it was VERY quiet at night. The room was more like a suite: the toilet, bedroom and bathroom were separate and linked by their own corridor, with a lockable door. The bed was comfortable, and the room and facilities were generally clean. Zoe included a generous packed lunch for each of us in the price. We each got a sandwich with our own choice of filling, crisps, an apple, a drink and a chocolate biscuit. It meant we didn’t have to plan lunch for the onward journey. We’ll certainly stay here again on our way to or from the Eurotunnel or Dover Port.
