Premier Inn Folkestone - Channel Tunnel

I left a precious item at the hotel after having it posted there for a meeting while I was staying as a guest. I'd pretty much accepted losing it, but after I called MARK, he arranged to forward it to me. What a gentleman, and outstanding service. I'll try to leave feedback another way in case it reaches the seniors. It's a consistently good Premier Inn, with excellent phone and data signal in all the rooms. The ladies running breakfast in the restaurant are so lovely and make a fuss over you.

The hotel is conveniently close to the channel tunnel, and we'll definitely return. We had a great night's stay on our way to Europe, our first time at this property. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the room and bathroom were clean and had everything we needed. The beds gave us a good night's sleep, and I appreciated the extra pillow on the shelf. Breakfast was in another building, so you might need an umbrella to walk over in the rain. The buffet was perfectly cooked. I prefer a wider continental selection, like you'd get in a 4* hotel, but everything was good overall.

The rooms were an adequate size, and the hotel is fairly close to both Dover ferry terminal and the Folkestone tunnel. We didn't interact with staff because everything was self-service, so I can't really comment on customer service. The corridors were nicely air conditioned, oddly, but the rooms weren't. On the rare days when it was 30 degrees during the day, the rooms stayed extremely hot at night.

At night the room was 31degrees and there was only a fan to cool it. The parking lights were bright, so we had to keep the curtains shut, which made it even hotter. They promise a good night's sleep, but refused a refund. Apparently, the complementary breakfast, which I wasn't offered but was just given to me, was supposed to make up for not being able to sleep with my 7 and 3 year old children.
