This felt like a proper traditional pub: warm, clean, and full of character. It seemed to be more of a locals' place, but everyone was friendly and I felt comfortable there. I stopped in for a coke while waiting to pick someone up, and was able to sit and make a Zoom call. I was surprised by some of the other reviews, as I had no trouble with the staff or decor. It was nice seeing people enjoying themselves.

I had the falafel salad with red peppers and couscous, and really enjoyed it. The Crown inn has a roomy garden that's lovely for food and drinks on a sunny day. It's dog friendly too, with gorgeous pooches coming and going all afternoon. Drinks were very well priced, and Pimms in summer is a must. A lovely afternoon.

The man who served me was miserable and really rude. The place felt so unfriendly and depressing, like a scene from Deliverance with the duelling banjos. Probably the most miserable pub I've ever had a drink in. I won't be back.

The atmosphere is cliquey, and the service was shocking. If you're not part of the clan, you may as well go elsewhere. They had no coke on tap, just a Lidl special, but charged the same price. I used to drink here all the time. Never again.

The food wasn't great, and although free kids' meals were advertised outside, we were charged for them. Sadly, we won't be returning.
