The Three Lions

The staff made our three-night stay at the three lions over New Year. They were lovely to chat with, went out of their way to help us in all sorts of ways, and made us feel welcome. They even prepared an off-menu hot toddy for someone in our group who had a cold. I loved my morning coffees by the fire, the music in the bar, and the delicious breakfast. The evening fish and chips were particularly good too. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the hot tub. The location is great, close to lots of walking trails. When we discovered our car battery was flat, the staff did everything they could to help and made the whole situation much easier. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The room beside the restaurant was noisy, and we expected more from the South African food. Dinner staff were very friendly, but the breakfast service was frustrating. On both mornings, the breakfast lady arrived over 40 minutes late, didn't apologise or even say good morning. Other staff said this happens every morning, which left me wondering why management accepts it. Breakfast itself was good, but far too expensive for the amount.

I can't speak from personal experience about the rooms, though I've heard they're very nice. The food, drinks and staff were excellent. Jason and his team run the inn incredibly well and make everyone feel welcome. It's friendly to dogs, children and everyone, and there's a lovely fire to warm you up. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. My room was clean, spacious and well stocked, with a lovely little balcony looking over four barn-style rooms. There was only one other room on my small floor. The pub next door was warm and welcoming, with fresh beer, good food and an amazing breakfast. The price and food value were outstanding. And then there's the New Forest. I was held up behind seven free-roaming cows and didn't mind one bit. Best traffic jam ever. I'll 100% stay again.
