Edale House is right in the Forest of Dean, with lovely walks nearby and the RSPB just a short walk from the B&B. It’s a good base for seeing the area, and only a ten-minute drive from the Dean Forest Railway if you’re visiting. We were offered a hot drink on arrival before checking in, which was relaxing after the journey. The public rooms were very clean, and although our room faced the main road, noise wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared. We could easily have stayed another night if we hadn’t already been busy.

Peter and Jane are wonderful hosts, and their comfortable, beautiful B&B has brilliant attention to detail. The rooms have everything you need to feel at home. Highly recommend.

The bathroom was tiny, barely enough room to swing a cat, though the room itself was nice. The host was excellent, breakfast was great, and they offered tea on arrival. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the Forest of Dean Railway at Parkend.

Jane and Peter welcomed us warmly, and the place was so clean and homely that it felt more like a house than a guest house. The rooms are fresh and well kept, and breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, all hot and perfectly cooked. It was a peaceful weekend base for biking and walking, just 3 miles from the bike park. There’s secure bike storage and a cleaning facility, plus a room for dirty clothes. Road cycling looks good here too, so we’ll try that next year. Parking was fine, much better than city parking if you’re not selfish. The shower pressure was fine for us, though it may not be what you’re used to, and we had a full-sized bath in Room 6. We couldn’t fault the place and would wholeheartedly recommend it. Thanks, we’ll be back.

Angela, Brook our border terrier, and I were very happy with the premises and the hosts during our one-night stay in July. Everything was in place and well thought out for the current situation, with nothing to disappoint. The hosts were welcoming and breakfast was top class. It’s a great place for walking and more. We’d stay again and recommend it.
