The lamb shank was incredible, so tender the meat fell right off the bone. Creamy mash and red wine sauce made it even better. I started with white bait, which was delicious too. A great meal in a lovely little restaurant.
I'd passed this place a few times and finally stopped in today. The staff gave us a really friendly welcome, and we enjoyed spending a couple of hours there. The regulars were chatty and friendly as well, and the atmosphere was really nice. There was plenty of seating indoors and a beer garden, and it was clean and tidy. The drinks choice was good and prices seemed reasonable. We didn't eat this time, so I can't comment on the food, though it looked nice and the place was busy. I heard people saying it was good, so I'll add a food rating when I try it. They've won a food award. There are en-suite rooms, breakfast and plenty of parking. They also put on live music, but check their Facebook page or contact them for details. It's on the B4221 between Ross on Wye and Gloucester. Definitely recommend it, and I'll go again and try the food next time.
We had a lovely Sunday roast here, and the kids were happy with their meals too. The portions were generous, and they especially loved the mud cake. The staff made us feel very welcome.
What a lovely find. The staff were delightful and did so much for us, and the food was great, especially the delicious onion bhaji. The pub has a pretty look and lots of cute little areas, and our bedroom was gorgeous and warm. Highly recommended, thank you! xx
I enjoyed the tasty food, which has a nice mix of Indian and European dishes, and the staff were friendly. Still, it felt a bit too much like a restaurant to me, and some of the local pub feeling seems to have gone. It's handy that you can stay overnight in the car park if you're in a camper.
