The setting is beautiful, and staying in a pod is a unique experience. Ours was clean and cosy, though unexpectedly warm and stuffy at night even with the heating off and the window open. The fridge was the biggest problem for me: it was loud enough to make sleeping difficult. The bathroom also gets muggy and could use better ventilation. Pods are compact and come with a few trade-offs, but light sleepers or anyone visiting in warmer months may want to bear those things in mind.

Shaun built the pods himself, which makes them even more appealing. They’re great little spaces, close enough to walk to Loch Ness but far enough away from the busy area around the loch.
