The Old Convent was one of the nicest places we stayed during our long holiday across the UK and Ireland. We only wished we could have stayed longer. The apartment was beautiful in its layout, decor and practicality, and we felt relaxed there and slept very well. Chris and Felicity have clearly put a lot of love into restoring the complex themselves, with personal touches reflecting their love for the Highlands. They live on site and welcomed us in person, showed us around the apartment and shared useful local and travel advice. Their detailed information book was helpful enough that we often referred to it, including while touring by car. Fort Augustus is busy during the day but peaceful at night. There are nice cafes and places to eat, plus two good grocery stores, one within walking distance. It's a great base for exploring the Highlands, as far as Syke. We spent three nights there and really enjoyed it.

The hosts were so kind and helpful, while giving us plenty of space. The building is clearly cared for, in excellent shape and spotlessly clean. Parking on site was easy. Our stay went well beyond what we expected. Thank you!

We came back after our first visit last year and had another perfect stay in a different apartment. The old convent details are impressive, and the interior is thoughtfully done. It has everything you need for a home away from home, including a well equipped kitchen that makes self catering easy. The woodburner adds to the cosy feel. It's in a quiet part of Fort Augustus and makes a good base for exploring the Loch Ness area. Chris and Felicity are wonderful hosts, and having a charger for your EV is a big bonus.

We ended up at The Old Convent because storm Dave hit while we were camping and we needed somewhere sheltered from the winds. On booking.com we had been looking at dreary, characterless hotel rooms, but this place looked remarkably nicer despite costing quite a bit less than the premier inn for the night. We were delighted with the choice. We arrived late, and Felicity still gave us a really warm welcome. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and full of character, with everything we needed to cook an Easter roast. Its location was excellent for hiking too. We stayed because we had to, but we'll come back because we want to. Thanks so much!

We spent three nights in Apartment 1 in February 2026 and had no complaints. The apartment was cosy, with a well equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom and excellent shower room. The parking spaces are clearly marked for each apartment, and there is also an EV charger for guests, a real bonus. Felicity and Chris gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, and Felicity pointed out places of interest nearby. The location works well for visiting Loch Ness, Fort William, Inverness and Glen Coe. Chris has done an excellent job renovating the part of the building used for the holiday apartments. A lovely place with great owners.
