Cruachan Hotel

We had a lovely meal in the hotel bar, with good food and friendly service. AJ, a lovely Indian guy, went out of his way to look after us. My partner and I were there last week on a Highlands trip, and the location worked really well for a night in Fort William and a visit to Ben nevis. I'd stay here again if I'm in the Highlands.

We spent New Year here and had a lovely time. The staff were lovely, and the centre of Fort William was only a few minutes away on foot. Only a twin room was available, and the beds were very comfortable.

The only real drawback was the soundproofing, since we could hear the rooms next door quite clearly. Breakfast finished early at 9:30, and they kept the timing quite strict. Otherwise, it's well located, has free parking, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It had everything we needed.

The prices seemed high, but they were in line with other hotels nearby. I felt this place offered more, with better decor in both the rooms and hotel, breakfast included, and mostly very friendly, accommodating staff. We arrived late and were able to leave our bags after checkout, both without any hassle. The view over Loch Linnhe was lovely, too. Our room was warm, with a large window for ventilation and both bright and cozy lighting options. It came with a kettle, a few coffee and tea sachets, a hair dryer, an extra blanket, and extra pillows. The shower was warm with decent pressure. Breakfast was an average British and Continental spread, with plenty of food, though nothing mind-blowing.
