Muthu Fort William Hotel

Muthu Fort William Hotel was a welcome surprise on my trip through the Highlands. I was travelling and filming, and the quiet nights made it easy to get some proper rest. The room was clean, comfortable and bigger than I'd expected, with a great bed and heating that worked perfectly after coming in from the cold. Getting around was easy too. The hotel is on the main road, within walking distance of the town centre, waterfront and plenty of restaurants. The staff were warm and genuinely helpful, chatting with me and sharing local tips from the moment I checked in. I found it good value and would happily return, whether I'm back for hiking, sightseeing or filming.

We had a fantastic night away and would come back. The place was really nice and clean, with great service and breakfast. I found the mattress a bit too firm, and the rooms aren't very soundproof, so we could hear the TV and other noise next door.

The staff were polite and helpful, and I appreciated the little extras in the room: miniature toiletries, crisps and a hairdryer. Still, the price didn't feel justified. The hotel is dated, and every breakfast item was awful, including the coffee, juice and food. The beds and pillows were so hard that I slept very badly. At £40 a night, it might have made sense.

After a winter hike on ben nevis, I couldn't have asked for a comfier bed to come back to. Dinner was fantastic, especially the delicious steak, and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Deepek went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Thanks! I'd definitely recommend the place and will be back for my summer hikes.
