The garden was such a lovely place to eat and watch things go by, and the cottage itself felt welcoming, with really comfortable beds and sofas. Fortrose has plenty close by, from cafes and shops to a fish and chip shop, so we had what we needed. We loved the sea views, with Inverness and the mountains across the water, plus sailboats out on the firth. There are great walks nearby, and Chanory Point and Rosemarkie are both lovely places to visit, with beaches too. We never ran out of things to do and will definitely be back next year. We found a car handy for visiting waterfalls and the wobbly bridge, so I'd suggest flying to Inverness and hiring one.

It’s well kept and has everything you need. The little cottage sits by the harbour, about 20 minutes from Inverness, but it feels tucked away in a west coast cove. A lovely quiet spot if you need a break from everyday life.
