Crittlewood Guest House

The room was a decent size, but the staff were vile. I had my partner over to visit, and the lady said that if I took my partner into the room and locked the door, it was prostitution.

Roy was very welcoming after my day of cycling and even let me keep my bike in the hallway. The place was clean, warm and comfortable, with a fantastic en suite shower. There’s a first floor kitchen with tea, coffee and cooking facilities. I ended up getting breakfast at McDonald's about a mile down the road, which covered what I needed. I’d certainly recommend Crittlewood for a basic, no frills overnight stay.

I’ve been here seven nights so far and it already feels like home, so I’ve just booked another week. The proprietor is polite, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the kitchen has free tea and coffee, two microwaves, plus plenty of fridge, freezer and cupboard space for your own food. It’s very quiet with little traffic noise. The en suite bathrooms are clean and have showers, and there’s a bath available too. Prices are very fair, all rooms have Freeview TV, and guests can use BT infinity WiFi.

The new management are excellent at sorting out any issues. It’s a spacious guest house with good facilities, and they’re following excellent covid-19 procedures to make stays as safe as possible.
