Old Rectory Cottage

We spent Christmas here and couldn’t have picked a better place. The house was exactly as listed, cosy and comfortable, and set up beautifully for a festive stay. It felt welcoming as soon as we arrived, with the hosts having decorated for Christmas. Everything was very clean, and the heating worked extremely well in the cold weather and was easy to use. The beds were comfortable, the shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water, and the bathroom had modern features. The kitchen was well equipped. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome box and card, and the amenities supplied for dogs would be ideal for anyone travelling with a pet. The hosts communicated really well, responding quickly before arrival and during our stay. The pre-check-in instructions were clear, so everything felt organised and stress-free. It’s peaceful but still convenient for getting into Lincoln. Parking was easy, with plenty of space beside the house and on the adjacent road. It was generally quiet, which made for restful sleep and plenty of energy for festive activities. We had a particularly good Sunday roast at the Ferryboat pub just down the road, and the newly opened Sainsbury’s in the village was very handy. A perfect place for Christmas, and we’d happily stay again and recommend it.
