Springburn Farmhouse

The house and grounds are lovely, in a great location. My daughter and I stayed overnight while walking the Great Glen Way, and Morris met us and took us back to the Way. His advice was helpful, and his messages about where and when to meet were exemplary. We appreciated the first-class welcome, comfort, facilities, breakfast and service. I’d absolutely recommend Springburn to anyone travelling, whether on foot or by car.

Morris and Susan were great, even if he did bring up the British and Irish Lions beating Australia! I really appreciated the cuppa in the entrance lounge, which had a warm, friendly feel. The location was quiet, my room was immaculate and peaceful, and breakfast was exceptional, with lovely plunger coffee. The bed was a bit firm for my bad back.

We stayed three nights, knowing at least one might be dreich, and it was great to have somewhere warm and comfortable to curl up. After days of trekking, driving and rubber-necking, this was just the inviting place I’d hoped we’d find. The food was fantastic, especially the daily special, and we felt well looked after.

The only small letdown was the basic toilet tissue. It wasn’t bad, just not at the same standard as everything else, which was excellent. The owners gave me great service and just the right amount of hospitality, and were keen to help me get the most out of my stay. The communal area was clean and welcoming, just like the photos, and the rooms were modern, well equipped and high quality.
