The shared courtyard doubles as a car park, so there isn't a private fenced spot to sit outside with the dog. Inside, though, the cottage is comfortable, has great facilities, and feels well finished. The upstairs headroom can be awkward if you're tall, and it was hard to see the edges of the slippery wooden stairs.

Northumberland was easy to explore from this ideal spot. The cottage also had all the things we needed for a self-catering holiday...
