The little touches made this stay stand out. At breakfast, they brought fruit and warm pastries to the table without us asking, and reception welcomed us by name. The restaurant was good value and service there was excellent too. The hotel, next to the castle, has recently had a lot of investment and feels newly furnished and luxurious, with real attention to detail. We had a very comfortable three-night stay and I'd recommend it.

Trocadaro’s was a highlight for us, with excellent food and live entertainment we'd definitely recommend. The team were warm, engaging and professional, and looked after us from the moment we arrived. We stayed in a beautiful castle room, and the castle itself was enchanting, beyond what we'd expected. This was one of the best hotels we've stayed in, and could easily be the highlight of a vacation.

We held our third corporate event at Cross Basket Castle, this time a Burns Supper with colleagues from around the world. Each event has felt different, thanks to the range of spaces: the original Castle, the Ballroom, the Spiral Stair Suite, the Halls, grounds and lovely gardens. The food was perfect, and the new building has a modern feel that still fits its surroundings. There are more rooms there, and Trocadero’s is a great place to eat, drink and be entertained. The staff are second to none. Sarah-Jane and Laura made sure our event needs were met, Graham greeted guests with a smile, and Ryan and his team kept everything on track. Lauren at reception has a huge smile and seems to know everything about the buildings. Roddy the Piper provided the music and gave the Address to the Haggis, organised by Laura, which people described as the best they'd ever seen. We've had afternoon tea, lunch and dinner here, and there's something for every occasion. My son also got married at the Castle, so I know how stunning it is. It really is a hidden gem. We've already booked our Christmas party for 130 people, and I'm looking forward to the Castle's Spa opening. Well done to the Full Cross Basket Family. Thank you.

We came to Crossbasket Castle for Tea 4 Two as a birthday treat, and it was perfect. The food and service were excellent, fine dining at its best. We could settle in and enjoy the tasteful, elegant surroundings without feeling rushed. Such a beautiful hotel in a stunning setting.

Everyone was attentive and the service was great, but the afternoon tea food was disappointing. It tasted fine, but the portions were tiny and nothing like the attached photo. We got three little sandwiches, very small scones, barely a teaspoon of clotted cream, and cakes that looked straight out of a packet. There was no loaf cake or whatever the item on the middle plate was supposed to be. It's far too expensive for that, and they shouldn't show food in the photo that they don't serve.
