Glasgow Marriott Hotel

We were here for a work event with a three-course meal, and the food was really nice and great quality. The staff were attentive and helpful, doing a great job for an event of just over 300 people. The hotel itself is modern and clean, with a lovely atmosphere. I can’t comment on the rooms since we didn’t stay, though colleagues who did were very pleased with the accommodation. It’s close to the city centre and ideally located for the Hydro.

We booked at the last minute after another hotel didn’t work out and loved our stay in the Rowallan suite. It was large, perfectly clean, and had an incredibly comfortable bed. The location was excellent, a five-minute walk to the city centre and close to the Hydro, which was why we came. Breakfast was good, and even nicer on the second day. The breakfast staff were lovely, and one morning when I went down for a coffee, they offered me a bag so I could take a pastry while waiting to have breakfast later. We didn’t eat in either restaurant, so I can’t comment on them. The executive lounge was clean, with complimentary soft drinks and Nespresso coffee. Everyone we met, from housekeeping to front of house, was friendly and helpful, always smiling and greeting us. A few small requests were handled promptly, and the staff were very accommodating when I asked for a slightly later checkout because our flight was later. My one small suggestion is better lighting at the desk mirror, perhaps a lamp, since that part of the room was a little dark. We’ve stayed in numerous hotels, and this was definitely a wonderful experience for us.

The hotel is stunning and only a 10-minute walk from all the major attractions. Our family room was a really good size and looked great, and the breakfast was really good too. But we found bottle tops under the bed, which made us wonder how clean the room really was. The beds were much too firm, and the duvets were really thin. I have a firm mattress at home, but this felt like sleeping on a door. Also, operating the shower and tap switch took the strength of the incredible hulk.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and its location made it easy to enjoy the city. What stood out most was the reception service. Harshita and Rafela were welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. They made check-in smooth and were always glad to answer questions. Their warm attitude made me feel valued as a guest. I had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Glasgow, would definitely recommend it, and look forward to coming back.
