Holiday Inn Express Glasgow City Centre Riverside by IHG

There was a pub just down the street with live music every night, and the location was excellent. My room was spacious, had a view, and came with everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was hearty, though not the best. I'd have liked a few more fresh vegetables or fruit, and maybe some cheese. The morning cleaning staff calling to each other down the hall made it hard to sleep in. Still, I definitely plan to stay here again.

The staff made this stay for me. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from check-in right through to checkout. I didn't catch any names, but they all deserve a big round of applause. The hotel is handy for shopping, live music and restaurants, and I don't agree with the comment that it's in a run-down part of the city. Our room was very clean, the bed warm and comfortable, and the shower was great, with toiletries provided. Breakfast had hot and cold choices for everyone. We stayed two nights and would definitely come back.

The room was clean and a comfortable temperature, the TV worked, and the bathroom was well stocked and tidy. It was generally quiet, and we couldn't hear people in the rooms around or above us. The stay itself was fine, though the lift moved slowly and shook quite a bit. There was also a mild drill-like noise every hour or so. I can't say for sure what it was or where it came from, but it sounded as though it might be in the hotel. On arrival, we had to get the attention of the person serving us, who seemed monotone and unenthusiastic. The person who took our card at checkout the next day was much more cheerful.

The location was ideal for us, right behind St Enochs and beside the city centre, with the O2 Academy nearby too. We were in Glasgow for the Christmas market with our family and had a lovely stay. The staff were so nice. The woman who checked us in greeted my kids, and even my youngest, who can be shy, started talking to her. The breakfast staff were lovely and helpful as well. We'd definitely stay again.
