The room was spotless, the staff were genuinely friendly, and my stay at the City Centre South hotel was lovely. What stayed with me most, though, happened one evening when a drunken group came through reception making a scene. Their noise and demands were bad enough, but they also used racist and homophobic language towards staff who were just doing their jobs. It was disgraceful to see, and upsetting to hear in a public space. The team kept their composure and stood their ground without getting pulled into the group’s behaviour. They looked after the atmosphere and helped nearby guests feel safe, handling the abuse with real dignity. Once the group left, things settled back into the hotel’s usual warm, relaxed feel. Seeing how the staff dealt with it made me admire them even more. It’s a brilliant hotel with a brilliant team, and I’d happily return.

The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and the food was very good. All 15 of us ate at the hotel both nights and nobody had a complaint, which says plenty. The location suited us perfectly, too. Most of the staff were exceptional. Karen and Lisa were always smiling and went out of their way for our large group. Lisa especially did a lot for me and is a real credit to the hotel. Dealing and Amy on the night shift were lovely as well. At our first breakfast, the breakfast manager seemed to be having a bad day and reprimanded a staff member in front of guests. If staff need correcting, please do it privately, it was uncomfortable for us and unfair on the employee. We had a great trip overall and would gladly come back.

We had two good meals in the restaurant, and the SeaBass is well worth recommending. The kitchen also went out of its way to cater for a gluten allergy. Breakfast was the usual sort of offering, cooked fresh and plentiful. Check-in staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were spotless. The towels were big and fluffy. The hotel sits outside the LEZ, but if your car doesn’t comply, you can’t drive through town to reach this particular Premier inn.

I really liked the hotel. The rooms were quiet and dark, with plenty of space, and they were clean. Getting to it is the awkward part: it’s a fair way from the train and bus station, at least from Buchanan train and bus station.

The staff were brilliant, and Devlin and Karen made dinner such a fun evening. Everyone I dealt with was helpful, and breakfast was good too. The rooms are lovely and clean, though the bathroom fan stayed on all night and was a nuisance. Still a great place to stay.
