The meals at Chop Grill & Bar were a highlight, and I ended up eating there both days because I liked the food and service so much. The ribeye with red wine demi-glace on the first night was perfectly cooked and came with excellent sides. The next day I had a chicken burger for lunch, then chicken and smoked ribs for dinner. Every dish was spot on. This was my 6th stay at Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel, and the hospitality team made the visit warm and easy from start to finish. I first booked a Monday through an Itison voucher, then changed it to Sunday and booked Saturday directly on the hotel's website. The team handled the change really helpfully and without hassle. My only complaint is the housekeeping. The rooms haven't been up to the same standard as everything else on any of my visits, and it still hasn't improved. I expect a room to feel spotless and well presented, but there have been several issues. Even so, it was a fantastic experience.

We spent two nights here for a gig at the Hydro, but the room was in really poor condition. There was hair in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, dirt on the counters, and the balcony couldn't be used. The balcony door also looked as if it had been broken into from outside. The bed was uncomfortable, and the mattress and protector were disgusting. We raised it on day one. The man at reception said he'd make a note, but nothing happened. At checkout, a woman apologized and said she'd look into it. On the drive home, we got another apology by email and an offer of a partial refund, which we accepted. I wish they had sorted it out that first day, or offered us a properly cleaned room. I wouldn't stay here again.

The room was clean and efficient, and we liked having a king bed, but there was barely space for two pieces of luggage. When we asked about switching rooms, reception said all the rooms on our floor, or perhaps in our price category, were the same size. That didn't seem true: the single traveler we were with had a room down the hall that was clearly bigger. She had two club chairs, while we had one, and about 6’ more floor space between the bed and wall. Her bathroom also had bath sheet sized towels, while ours had tiny ones that barely covered you. We managed in the end, but I'm frustrated they told us the rooms were all the same size. Why give the larger room to one guest instead of two?

Glasgow's central location made it easy to reach shops, great restaurants, historic pubs, and public transport. We had a great stay at Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel, and it's especially convenient if you're traveling with a pet. The hotel is very dog friendly, the staff were accommodating, and the rooms were spacious enough to make traveling with our pet comfortable and stress free. There was renovation work across the street, but it didn't bother or disrupt us.

We had a nice, very clean room with a good sized bathroom during our stay at the sandman last weekend. The only problem was that one elevator wasn't working, so the waits got really long. We were on the 7th floor, which meant plenty of stairs.
