A lovely place to visit, just a ten-minute walk from Glasgow centre, where you can see a different side of the city. It’s good for wildlife too. Last week, the six cygnets and their parents were there. You can cycle, walk or jog here, and if you head the right way, you can stop for what I think is the best ice cream at Jaconnellis.
It’s peaceful despite being right in the city, and makes a handy route to the city centre or towards Maryhill and beyond. There are great skyline views, and plenty going on with people fishing, cycling and walking. The walkway could use more bins.
Definitely worth riding out here by bike.
A nice wee spot to sit when the sun’s out. It’s peaceful and well looked after.
There’s a business by the canal walkway, with canal boats on the opposite side.
