Staff seemed well trained and the customer service was fine, but this is a two-star hotel at best in my view. The rooms are tired, with little attention to detail, and some areas were dirty. It might work if you just need somewhere to sleep after a night out, but be warned about the noise at night and in the early hours. It’s suited to people after quick accommodation without frills.

I was in Glasgow for a football match in July, with a late kick-off, and stayed one night. The price and central location are amazing, and the room was comfortable enough for a good sleep. You get the basic facilities, but it felt dated and worn. For a budget stay of one or two nights, it’s a decent central option if you can live with the rough edges. The bathroom was the main letdown. It seemed poorly fitted: the tap felt like it might come off in my hand, the towels were rough and fixtures were rusting. The bath and shower looked grimy, possibly dirty or mouldy. The room itself was clean, but I didn’t use the shower and waited until I was back home in Edinburgh. Staff at check-in and check-out were very pleasant, five stars for them. A couple of improvements would help. There’s no luggage storage, which is disappointing for a central Glasgow hotel and could be a problem for guests with cases. Also, the main doors were locked when I got back late from the match. The hotel is attached to an Indian restaurant, and I couldn’t see another entrance. I had to rattle the doors until someone I presumed was restaurant staff came to let me in. A night porter, phone number or door code would be useful, especially with hen and stag parties and people wanting to experience Glasgow nightlife. With the issues sorted, I could easily see this becoming a four or five star review based on the price and location.

The bed was decent and the room relatively quiet, but the place looks as if it hasn’t been renovated in three decades. There were cracked tiles, missing bits of equipment, torn carpets, and cables sticking out of the wall. Cleanliness wasn’t up to standard. Staff were friendly, and the bar and breakfast were OK for a 3* hotel. The location is pretty central if that’s what you need. I couldn’t get a useful answer about parking. They didn’t reply to my email and weren’t helpful on the phone either, so I ended up overpaying for parking. There was no lift at the time, and nobody helped with my luggage. I wouldn’t recommend it overall.

I picked this place for two nights in Glasgow because I only needed somewhere to sleep and didn't want to spend a fortune. It was just right for that. The room was clean and a good size, the bathroom was spotless, and the shower had strong pressure. The staff were welcoming, and the small lift did the job. It's an older building, so some floors slope and you can feel it rumble when a lorry or train passes. Still, it was comfortable and handy for the station and the city. It felt like a lovely little independent hotel where I could recharge for the next day.

Getting around was easy from here, with Glasgow Central right next door and most of the city centre a 5-10 minute walk away. I had hoped to check in early, but had to wait until 3pm. The room was a bit tight, and I had to turn sideways between the desk and bed. It also shook now and then when trains or vehicles went by, though it wasn't too disruptive. Fair value for the price.
