We booked two rooms for our party on Saturday March 28th 2026, paying only £93 in total. Check-in is listed as after 14.30; we arrived at 17.00, found parking easily and had helpful staff available. The rooms were clean and warm, with a kettle and enough supplies for several teas or coffees, though no decaf. The bathroom had orange-scented handwash and a smallish shower with shower gel. The bed was comfortable and the sheets good quality. It was under the window, and with it close to freezing outside, there was a cold draught and light getting in at first. We fixed that by weighting the curtain bottoms on the wide sill. The upper floor rooms are reached by steep, narrow stairs. You can hear conversations from adjoining rooms more than you'd like. Wi-Fi worked well and there was a wall-mounted TV. Checkout is at 10 am, with a £10 hourly charge for staying later. There was no breakfast, despite the website saying otherwise, which seems out of date.

The hotel is in a wonderful location, and the small rooms are adequate for a short visit. The trouble was the noise from above. It wasn't music or a TV, but constant banging and crashing, like furniture being shifted or heavy things dropped. I was woken at 0900 on New Year's Day, then before 0500 the next morning. I told the staff, but they couldn't or didn't do anything. It's a shame, because I'd recommend it for a short stay if that noise wasn't going on.

Room 9 was basically a box with a bed and a tiny kettle, and I wouldn't call it three-star. Still, the shower had good hot water and pressure, and it worked for a last-minute stay. The location is pretty ideal for public transport to major Glasgow spots, right by lovely Queen's Park and near Shawlands, with supermarkets, charity shops and the like.

The place is in ruins, the building is disgusting, and the service is appalling. Staff were no help and had no customer service skills. It's way overpriced for a bad area, £94 a night, £93 to cancel and a £100 deposit. The roof is falling in on part of the building and some windows are missing. The Google pictures are old and the building looks nothing like them. There are much better places in the city centre with beautiful, clean rooms, stunning views and outstanding customer service. Avoid this place at all costs.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated, and the location was very good and easy to get to. But the room wasn't very clean and was quite hot. There was no fan or proper ventilation, so it got uncomfortable at times. The location and staff were good, though the room conditions need work.
