The email with my door code had landed in junk, so check-in was a bit confusing. A nice lady in the bar helped me sort it out. The room itself was clean, modern and lovely, with a great bed and shower. Good value too, and the Scottish Irn-Bru in the room was a fun little touch. Yum!

The location is really convenient, right beside the train and bus stations. The bed was two single beds pushed together, though, and the join was uncomfortable. When I moved to the side, the mattress tilted and left me with back pain after two nights. I’ve travelled around the UK for over a month and stayed in 20 hotels, and this was the first bed to leave me with bone pain. The shower was awkward too. It’s fixed into the wall, the water pressure was very low, and showering took ages and felt uncomfortable.

The staff are so warm and helpful, always serving with a smile. Such a lovely place to stay.

A cosy room tucked into a small Scottish town, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Cosy, clean accommodation, about 45 minutes from Edinburgh.
