Grange Hotel

The staff at The Grange Hotel were friendly, polite and engaging, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Our room was nice, with both a bath and a shower, though I slept badly because hallway light came through the large gap under the door. On the second night, I used bathroom towels to block it. After a long day walking, the spa was a welcome oasis. I’d highly recommend the restaurant, where both food and service were 10/10. The location was as convenient as promised. It really was a two-minute walk from the station and only five minutes into town, where we found a good selection of shops and cafes.

We had three enjoyable nights at the Grange Hotel, from 14-17 April 2026. It has a lovely traditional feel and was spotlessly clean throughout our stay. Getting around was easy without driving everywhere, since the hotel is near both the railway station and the bus stop for Windermere. Our room was exceptionally large, clean and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed for resting after long days out. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t a fridge, especially since there seemed to be space for one. Breakfast was excellent each morning, with generous portions and a good range of choices. We especially liked the menu pancakes and porridge. We enjoyed having the pool, sauna and steam room as part of the leisure facilities. The sauna and steam room are quite small, though, comfortable for two, but a bit snug with three. It’s a welcoming, comfortable hotel in a great location, and we’d happily stay again when visiting Grange-over-Sands.

We had a large family get-together here and would definitely return. The staff were warm and friendly, the rooms spacious and lovely, and both the restaurant and hotel bar meals were excellent. The hotel was especially welcoming to our dog and even provided a dog station. Most nights, our group gathered in the Library, which worked really well for all of us. Some family members also used and enjoyed the pool and spa. It’s in a great location too.

My girlfriend and I came for our anniversary and couldn’t believe how perfect it was. Our room was stunning, modern and clean, and the two reception ladies made us feel at ease straight away. On our first night, waitress Olga was brilliant, as was the gentleman in the black suit who served us. The food was some of the best we’ve tasted, so compliments to the chef. A special mention to the bar manager, whose name begins with a K, though I don’t want to get it wrong. He was kind, welcoming and a real professional, and has built an amazing bar team. Joe was a legend too, serving great drinks. Good luck at uni, fella! I could keep going about how good this place is, but I’ll just say I recommend it 1000%.
