We had a girls' trip at Pheasant Lodge and loved how comfortable it all was. The rooms were spacious, with high ceilings and a country-luxury feel. They'd thought of everything, even laying out the fire ready to light. There's a booklet explaining how things in the house work and offering ideas for nearby places to go, and the TV has all the streaming channels if that's your thing. We'll 100% be back!

Hannah was a brilliant host and kept in touch well throughout. The kids loved the toys and games, and the property guide was carefully put together, with useful tips and suggestions for our trip. We found the lodge easily, and there were plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops and a petrol station nearby. We spent a long weekend in February at this gorgeous place. It's full of character, with very high ceilings, spacious bedrooms and tasteful, luxurious decor that mixes modern touches with original period features. The log burner was a favourite. Lake Windermere was a convenient 13-minute drive away, where we caught the steamer from Lakeside across the water to Bowness and Ambleside. It's one of the best places we've stayed, and could rival or beat most hotels. We'd absolutely recommend it and will visit again!

Such a peaceful place to unwind, with inspiring natural surroundings. You can feel the care that goes into the home as soon as you walk through the door; every detail was beautifully presented. Hannah was so helpful too. Thanks for a gorgeous weekend xx

Beautiful house and setting, with lovely decor and a great host. The neighbour is an arrogant, horrible man. It was absolutely freezing inside, and we couldn't get the whole house warm during our two days there. The bathroom shower leaked past the screen and left a puddle on the floor.

Even in October, it was lovely to come back after walking and swimming in the nearby lake and get cosy by the fire. We had a perfect weekend in a beautifully decorated house in stunning surroundings. A wonderful getaway whatever the weather!
