Premier Inn Grantham

For anyone working night shifts, this place isn't ideal. The cleaners regularly bang their trolleys against the walls in the morning, making it hard to sleep during the day. There seems to be little consideration for guests. The signal is extremely poor, and although free WiFi is advertised, it was barely usable unless you pay extra for the upgraded version. I'd advise not leaving anything behind either, as my charger seems to have been taken and I haven't been able to retrieve it. I stayed at this Premier Inn for three nights during the week, and it was very disappointing. Checkout is at 12pm, yet housekeeping knocked at my door from 10:30am even though I was still in the room with the “Do Not Disturb / I’m Sleeping” sign up. They kept knocking. Then, while I was in the shower, I heard someone come into the room and shut the door. It felt like a complete invasion of privacy. Staff shouldn't try to enter before a guest has checked out. I think this particular Premier Inn needs better staff training and more consideration for customers.

The breakfast at the adjacent Brewers Fayre was excellent. I've stayed at a few Premier Inns around the country, and this is the best one. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and it was perfectly placed for what I was doing.

The reception ladies and cleaners were brilliant, and made my stay in Grantham enjoyable. Ruth especially went above and beyond to sort out my booking when I arrived on the 26th Oct. Many thanks, ladies.

The staff were friendly and apologetic about the plumbing problem, and moved me to another room, with a choice of two. The hotel is in a quiet spot and conveniently close to the main motorway and A1. Still, I'd rate it four stars if the plumbing issue hadn't made my first night sleepless. It put a damper on my time away, especially with an early family gathering the next day.
