The room was spotless and cosy, and the breakfast was so good I’d happily take on a Highland cow for another serving. David made me feel at home as soon as I arrived, with a warm welcome and a story for every bit of Speyside he showed me. His local advice was spot-on, and he knows the area better than Google Maps. I loved the comfort, the laughs, and the hospitality. I’m already thinking about another trip, though I should probably wait until David notices how much of his Whiskey we drank.

David gave me a helpful introduction to the town and where to find food, and the little whisky tasting was a lovely surprise. My room was spacious, very clean, and had everything I needed. Beate made sure I had what I needed to get the day started, and breakfast was lovely. They’re both such kind hosts.

David planned our whisky day around the kinds of whisky we enjoy, and the tour was well worth the cost. We’d already done Speyside distillery visits with him before staying at this welcoming B&B. The room was comfortable, with a complimentary wee dram, and breakfast was excellent. We’d happily use David’s services again on our next trip to the Highlands, and recommend both the tour and the B&B.

We really enjoyed our stay at Haus Alba. Right in the heart of Grantown-on-Spey, it’s a lovely home base for exploring the Highlands, and David and Beate are kind, welcoming hosts. They’re glad to share ideas if you want to explore on your own. David also knows the local area and whisky inside out, and his hiking or whisky tours take you off the beaten track. We’d be happy to put ourselves in his capable hands again.

The fresh local breakfast was generous, and Beate’s homemade jams made it even better. We spent a few days with David and his family and felt right at home in this lovely, cosy B&B. The highlight was doing the Single Malt Trail and whisky tastings with David, who knows so much about whisky and the region’s history. It was one of our most memorable experiences. Haus Alba is a great base for trekking and hiking too. If you want to enjoy and appreciate whisky, I’d recommend staying here and taking David’s tour. It’s a lovely way to explore Scotland.
