The location is nice and the building is beautiful, but the food was bad: the chicken and burgers were very dry. If chips are all you want, fine, but I'd avoid ordering anything else. Owners, please improve the cooking and service or get used to very quiet bank holiday Sundays.

The peaceful greenery in the lovely garden is what would bring me back most. I visited for the first time on Bank Holiday Monday during a heat wave. The food was good, and the service was very nice despite the staff being rushed off their feet. There definitely weren't enough staff for the bank holiday. I'll be back.

A charming 15th-century building with modern luxury, and plenty of parking. The showers are hot, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, as were the food and drinks generally, and the price was good. It's a great base for the Roald Dahl museum or for hiking and cycling in the Chilterns. I'd recommend staying here, and we'll come back when we're visiting the Chiltern Hills or Great Missenden.

I stay here regularly because I'm often working nearby. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is really friendly, so it's always a lovely stay. There were booking system problems once, through no fault of mine or the staff, but they sorted everything out well. After a long journey, I really enjoyed my large glass of red. Thanks, Angelica.
