St George Hotel

The location was brilliant, near one of the piers and the seafront. The front desk guy was really nice and helped sort out a mixup with our booking. Our room was clean and had a fridge, microwave and kettle. The shower was cold, but at that price, I can't complain.

Our first room had no hot water. Staff came to try to fix it but couldn't, so they moved us to a bigger room where the hot water worked perfectly. The rooms were clean, and staff were really helpful and quick to respond. I'd stay again.

The rooms were okay, but we had to leave two days early because the beds had bedbugs. We had to pay another 180 for somewhere else to stay. There was a broken lock on the toilet door, though that was fixed the next day. Half the light bulbs didn't work, and exposed live wires on the lights were an eyesore. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

I stayed at the St George Hotel in Great Yarmouth two days ago and had no hot water in my room. I ran the tap for 15 minutes, but it stayed stone cold. At reception, the staff member told me, “If you have no hot water, nobody has hot water,” and when I asked about taking a shower, said, “Same as everybody else.” There was no apology, offer of help or basic courtesy. Guests shouldn't have to put up with cold showers and rude dismissals. It's completely unacceptable, and I'd strongly advise looking elsewhere. When I turned over the bedding, I found blood on the quilt cover 🤮. I've now stayed somewhere else.
