The rooms were roomy and spotless, and the staff were friendly. If we wanted extra ordinary tea bags, we just had to ask. Our dinner deal included two courses: I had steak cooked just how I liked it, with mushrooms and chips, then chocolate cake and ice cream. My boyfriend chose potato skins, a good-sized starter, followed by macaroni cheese with garlic bread and chips, with salad as an option. After eating, we relaxed in the bar. Breakfast was help-yourself buffet style, including making your own tea, coffee and toast.

The food was really nice and reasonably priced, and everyone working there was friendly and helpful. I liked the decor too. I'd definitely book another stay.

We got a really good bargain with the dinner, bed and breakfast deal. The room was large and clean, and the staff were helpful. The food was amazing. There were a few small things that could be better, but at the price we paid, I can't really complain. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The function room was great, but our room had several problems. The double bed felt small, and its hard, uncomfortable edges kept us from sleeping. We were above the recycling and bottle bins, which were used at unreasonable times late at night and early in the morning. There was no cold water from the taps, just lukewarm, so we had to go to reception for table water.

We had a fabulous three-course carvery with the family. There was plenty to choose from, and everything was hot and tasty. The cocktails were delicious too. We'll definitely return.
