Celador Apartments - Wellington House

I stayed in May 2025 and found these Reading apartments extremely well maintained. They’re centrally located near Oracle Mall, Broad Street and Reading Railway Station. I’m planning another trip to Reading soon and will positively book Celador Apartment in London Street, Reading.

Parking was a big reason Wellington House worked so well for my month-long stay at Celador Apartments after arriving in Reading. Access is via East Street, the car park is easy to reach, the spaces aren’t tight, and there was always plenty of parking. Colleagues had warned me about the permit complications and restricted bus lanes at other city-centre apartments, so this was stress-free. Levi, the facility manager, was fantastic. He met me in person, helped with my heavy luggage and showed me how to use the appliances. When he spotted that the washing machine wouldn’t switch on, he troubleshot it and fixed it within five minutes. His support was just as prompt later, when I thought I was locked out after a long day of moving. I messaged him and he replied immediately to help me troubleshoot. I only needed to push the door harder! The apartment was clean and comfortable, with all the appliances and kitchenware I needed, and I really appreciated the weekly cleaning. Mine had lift access, though I suspect not every unit does, so it’s worth asking if you need one. A Tesco and various takeaway shops are right downstairs, and bus stops are very accessible nearby. It’s much quieter here than near Friar Street, where I’ve stayed before and found weekends noisy. The walls can be a bit thin, so you might occasionally hear a neighbour, but overall it’s calmer and more comfortable than the city centre. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
