The bar was warm, comfortable and welcoming, with great beer. I went several evenings running because they had great football coverage. I’ll definitely visit again.

Absolutely awful stay on 5th September. Thank God it was only one night. The room was cramped and disgusting, and it hadn’t been cleaned. The bathroom was disgusting too. The pictures on this website don’t match what you get when you arrive, and I’d never go back. I think it was a train passing, seemingly every 10 minutes, and I got no sleep at all.

The pub itself was nice, the prices were standard, and the staff were friendly. The room was awful, though: outdated and not very clean, with a bathroom that needed a total overhaul. The shower mixer tap didn’t work and the water flow was poor. The toilet barely flushed and looked like it came from the 1970s. I couldn’t sleep a wink with the room right by the mainline railway, where trains ran all night. It needs investment. There was no parking available because the car park was tiny for the number of rooms. Unfortunately, it’s cheap for a reason.

Lovely owners, a cozy bar, and a great little hotel in a really central spot in Pangbourne.

We all had the roasts for lunch, and they were cooked and presented extremely well. Ella gave us first-class service. I’d recommend the restaurant if you’re in the area and want great food.
