We only ate here, so I can't comment on the rooms. We stopped for lunch and were glad we did. My half rack of ribs with fries and salad was cooked perfectly, and the meat fell off the bone. My wife had pork belly with potatoes, and that meat was spot on too. I had a premium lager, and the head stayed on it right down to the end, so thumbs up to whoever looks after the pipes. Service was excellent, no problems at all. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. Thanks to all the staff. I'd suggest booking a table ahead: we hadn't booked and got the last small table, while all the others were reserved. I think you can eat in the bar.

There was plenty of room to park, and the staff were kind when we asked for a cushion for my mother. The atmosphere was relaxed, too. We had a really nice meal for six, with such big portions that I took half of mine home. I'd happily go back.

The Christmas lunch with my company was a lovely occasion. It felt cosy, and the service was great. I started with the oven squid, then had the bobotie, and finished with banoffee pie. The food tasted even better than it looked, and the presentation was impressive. I’d definitely recommend it.

The carvery was delicious, and we'd gladly recommend it. I just wish there were a smaller portion available, as the servings were more than I wanted. We arrived at 12:30 and they were kind enough to fit us in, though I hadn't realised there were two Sunday lunch sittings, at 12 and, I think, 2:30. That timing could be awkward if you want to eat between them. With a smaller carvery option, I'd definitely return.
