Regent Guest House Grimsby

I’m leaving this feedback for my friend, who has no internet access at the moment and asked me to write on their behalf. They said the kitchen was very dirty when they were finally able to get in, and they didn’t like that it stayed locked until staff woke up, around 11am. They felt like a prisoner and, after losing sleep, came to me very upset. They also described a young couple there as rude, unprofessional, and extremely noisy, going in and out all night while drunk or under the influence. This place needs a complete staff revamp before I’d recommend it.

The woman at the hotel made us feel so at home that it seemed like we’d been there for weeks. She had our room ready early, and from the moment we arrived until we left this morning, she was always willing to help. This morning she went above and beyond with an embarrassing situation for us, even though it was risky for her. Her customer service was amazing, and she was genuinely caring. The manager on the phone had also allowed us to check in early. My workmate and I booked on the spur of the moment, expecting very little, so we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and professionally run the place felt. We’ll definitely stay again if lifesaver Mel is there. Thanks again, mel. I’ll remember my wallet next time. xxxxx

It’s a quiet spot, with no traffic noise to disturb you, and close enough to walk into the town centre. The rooms were spotless, and the shared bathroom and other facilities were immaculate too. The staff are so friendly and helpful, it feels like family.

We paid £80 for two nights for two of us, booked at short notice while in the area for business. For the price, it was a comfortable, clean and pleasant stay, and I’d use it again if I’m back for work. The gentleman who greeted us was lovely, and our bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. There’s free wifi and a TV, plus shower gel, shampoo, tea, coffee and a kettle in the room. Asda, tesco and takeaways are nearby if you need anything else. I also felt safer because the ground floor windows had protective cages. This is a house converted into B&B-style accommodation, which I think is useful to keep in mind when reading some of the reviews. I only had two small gripes: in room 6, the toilet door had been shaved too much at the top, leaving a 1.5cm gap, and the room door had a similar gap at the bottom, so noise could get through and it felt less private. The other rooms I passed looked fine. It was also a little hard to find, though a van was parked right in front of it for us.
