I left feeling bitterly disappointed and like I'd wasted over £1200. The kids were woken repeatedly by a dog barking for 20 minutes and by a train track beside some caravans that ran all night. Nobody had warned us about the trains. The heating was broken and stayed on for the first two days and nights. Changing it on the remote didn't help because it kept reverting, so I had to switch it off at the boiler. Staff were swearing at the bar while my son was there. My wife waited three minutes while two staff members sat on their phones, apparently unaware she was standing there with no other customers around. I also had to run to the bar to get a staff member some water because she was bright red after standing in the shooting range all day. We stayed with our four children and arrived on bank holiday Monday at the check-in time we'd been given, but there was no key left for us. We couldn't leave the caravan with all our belongings inside, and then had to rush out and miss half our shopping because Tesco was closing. With everything pushed back, we missed the first entertainment evening too. There were ants in the caravan, the toilet hadn't been cleaned and had poop down the back, and the dishes had been put away dirty. We paid extra for towels but never got them. Rollerblading was so hot that the kids couldn't do it, as there was no cool air. We were double booked for trampolining. The on-site food was absolutely terrible. One night at mash and barrel, we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for tea. On the last morning, breakfast took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive, and this was what we got for the “ultimate” breakfast.

The kids had a fantastic time, but the adults didn't, and I wouldn't return. The evening entertainment kept the children happy, though there was very little for grown-ups. The site felt overpriced, poorly managed, and short on basic maintenance and customer care. The heat was a problem throughout our visit during one of the hottest spells of the year. The resort didn't seem ready for those temperatures, especially in the arcades and activity hall, where the indoor heat was unbearable. We paid £10 each for six people to go to the roller disco, but the organisation was chaotic. Safety gear was in a mess, staff barely helped, and hundreds of children were trying to get equipped at once. You couldn't go on the rink without the gear, but nobody was managing the process properly. Once we'd finally got ready, only about 10 minutes of our hour remained. The holiday home had cost around £1,000, so I don't think it was unreasonable to expect fans or air conditioning. The heat was extreme, and in my opinion the activity should have been cancelled. My children felt unwell afterwards and showed signs of heat exhaustion. There were safety issues at the pool too. My stepson cut his toe on the sharp steps getting out of the lazy river. Pool depth markings and hazard indicators were missing or so worn they couldn't be seen, and people regularly banged their knees and legs around the entrance and exit areas. The changing rooms smelled of urine and faeces the whole time, and seemed poorly cleaned and maintained. The site's toilets were dirty and outdated. A public cleaning checklist in a photo I attached showed dates from March, even though we stayed at the end of May. Whether it had been checked or not, it didn't give me confidence in the cleaning standards.

Fresh bedding and the most comfortable beds made this beautifully clean, modern static well worth the money. Happy holidays, we're going to rebook another few day break :)

Ben and Lauren made the holiday so much more fun. They seem absolutely mental, and I love it! You can tell they love their jobs. If I could give them five stars of their own, I would. I’ve just had an incredible week at Presthaven Sands. Ben was on stage with mascot Rory, and Lauren played Jill in the daytime panto ‘Jack And The Beanstalk’.
