Skye Oceans Hotel

The service was good, and the man at the desk was helpful. The location was good too, right on the coast. But the hotel was a disaster: the halls smelled of weed, the room was horrible, and there were dirty pants behind the bed. There were no curtains in the bathroom, so we had no privacy using the toilet or shower.

Our stay at Skye Oceans Hotel has been great. The place felt fresh and well cared for, apart from a rusty radiator and dirty, ripped blinds. The gentleman at the front desk was very polite and welcoming. We arrived a little early, but he let us check in and said he'd just finished cleaning the room. That thoughtful gesture made us feel comfortable and looked after straight away. The cleanliness, hospitality, and kindness made the stay wonderful. Highly recommend.

Do not book with this company, it's a scam. We arrived on Saturday 4th October 2025 and found the hotel had closed down. When we rang the number we had for the staff, they said it was shut and we'd been transferred to another hotel on the other side of Blackpool from where we'd travelled. The Canasta hotel was dirty and damp, and smelled as soon as we walked in. The man working there laughed at us and said we wouldn't be happy with the rooms. He was right: they were shockingly stained and dirty, and the room doors wouldn't lock. We were then moved again, this time to Sunny Days. It was just as bad, though it didn't smell. We had no choice but to stay because it was late and we had an appointment the next day.

The bed was comfy, and apparently we were lucky to get hot water because we were on the first floor. But the hotel is dated and needs modernising and a fresh coat of paint. The room needed more attention during cleaning, and we could have used more towels and pillows. I feel sorry for Jay, I think that's his name. He's doing everything himself, from checking people in to cleaning rooms. They need more staff. The manager doesn't want to pay anyone, and no breakfast could be served.
