Royal Hotel

The breakfast service was a mess, with rude staff hurrying to take plates away before we'd even started. Staff training in customer service is needed, along with room checks. We arrived to a filthy room: the fridge was stained, and there was lipstick, mascara or some other black makeup on grey linen that was supposed to be white. The bathroom ceiling was rusty, the jacuzzi bath was dirty and smelled awful, and the floor hadn't been vacuumed. When I asked for it to be cleaned, the cleaner got argumentative, insisting she'd already done it in front of me and my husband. She argued again downstairs with me, while a chubby man with a beard who said he was the manager stayed pretty silent. He did agree to move us to a room on the second floor, which was a massive improvement. The thin cleaner with the long ponytail shouldn't be gobbing off at customers who ask for a clean bed and room. She didn't do her job at all and should be sacked.

It's great to find a family friendly hotel like this these days. There's space in the restaurant and lounge for families with little ones to crawl around and walk. The back room has darts and a pool table too.

A lovely family run hotel where you get what's promised. The staff were great, really helpful and happy to let the kids be kids. The rooms and beds were clean, though a little dated. Bar prices were good, and the full English breakfast was excellent. We'd definitely return 🌟👍🏻

Clair and Michal were lovely. The hotel was amazing, clean, and the food was really good. I'd definitely come back again.
