The pleasant staff were a plus, and breakfast was fine, if somewhat limited. Parking is free but limited. Beyond that, the upkeep was poor: torn, mismatched carpets, leak marks on the ceiling and worn high-traffic areas that needed attention. On a hot day, our room above the boiler room was suffocating. We couldn’t open the windows or curtains to keep it from getting hotter, and there was no other ventilation. I was grateful for the fan, since not all guests had one. At check-in, other guests had already complained and were told the booking.com listing said there was no AC, but nothing else was done. The bathroom was awful, with black mould on the ceiling, hairs in the bath and sink, urine marks on the toilet seat, stains around the bath, and shocking dust on the light and vent. After we asked for it to be cleaned, the urine stain was removed, thank you, but that was about all. It’s a shame because the hotel is a 15-minute walk from the beach and pier through a lovely garden or park. I was there with my five-year-old and won’t be returning.

The room price was convenient and the swimming pool was included. I had a nice stay with lovely people, but probably won’t come back. The place needs upgrading and fresh paint, fewer carpets, and cleaner windows. There was a kettle, tea and coffee in the room, but no spoon 🙃. The pool steps felt unstable and need securing, which I reported to staff. It’s a 15-minute walk to the beach. Fine for one night’s sleep, not a family holiday.

The public areas looked much better than the rooms. Ours was uncomfortable and very hot, and the little fan didn’t help enough. The carpet was dirty, the bathtub didn’t look clean enough to use, and even soap wasn’t properly provided. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The only good part was the live singing entertainment at night. The hotel felt badly run and run down, with rude staff, especially Maria. It was ridiculously understaffed. We paid decent money for a few nights with my family, but on a hot day we were given just one fan for the room. There’s no fridge in any guest room, something the website never mentioned, and in 2026 there’s still no air conditioning anywhere in the building. The stairwell carpets were ripped and worn. There’s a pool on site, but no staff or lifeguards supervising it. The arcade machines didn’t work properly, Netflix on the TV didn’t work, and even the beers were flat. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid it at all costs.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! We didn’t even stay. After seeing the room, we demanded a refund, and luckily Florence at reception was very understanding and processed it straight away. There was mould everywhere, insects in the bathroom, burn marks on the headboard and bedside cabinet, and the window was hanging on by one screw and bracket. The hallways looked like a construction site, with stains on all the floors, marks everywhere, damaged ceilings, a strong lingering stench and a general unsafe feeling. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stay there. The owner should be ashamed to have it open to the public. It needs a health and safety inspection and to be shut down ASAP.
