The new landlady has already made some great improvements in the roughly three years since our last visit. Even out of season, the pub was busy and had a good atmosphere, and the locals were happy to suggest walks and places to see. We stayed for a couple of nights in a large room with plenty of storage and a comfortable bed. We tried Parmo for the first time and wow, it was amazing. The full breakfast and Sunday roast were both delicious, made with freshly cooked ingredients. I’d definitely recommend the pub, and we’ll be back.

The Station has recently changed management and now has a much improved menu, with several delicious Parmo options. There’s a good choice of wine and a great range of ales too. A lovely place to stop for a bite. Highly recommended.

The pies are good enough for a cordon bleu restaurant, and they also serve the local Parmio delicacy. There’s a great kids’ menu, too. A fantastic British pub, with coal fires and exceptional service.

They let me park my camper, so I could enjoy a lovely meal and spend the day on the steam trains. The food was fantastic and the service brilliant. Thanks for having us.

The beer was well kept, and the staff were cheerful and pleasant, working together as a great little team. Lots of people from the village came in to chat, which gave the place a real village hub feel. I ordered the Chicken Parmo and wasn’t disappointed: a generous portion, prepared and cooked really well. The menu is pared back, but everything I saw being served looked delicious. Great to see this place serving food again. I’ve been back three more times since writing this review, and each visit has been as good as the first.
