Queens Head Inn

We spent two nights at the queens head inn and will definitely return. It’s a handy spot in Monmouth, just a short walk from the high street, and our room was more than satisfying, with a huge king-size bed and a good shower. The staff and owner were welcoming and went out of their way to share tips about local sights and places to eat. We met friendly locals in the bar on Friday and Saturday, and the place had great energy. For what we paid, it was well worth it. If you’re heading to Monmouth, this is a lovely place to stay.

Neil made our two-night stay at this lovely Tudor pub. His hospitality was outstanding, and he cooked a cracking full English breakfast. Our room was clean and comfy, and the pub is close to the centre. The locals were lovely too, inviting us to join their quiz night, which was great fun and good company. Everyone made us feel welcome. Thanks to Neil for looking after us so well. We’ll definitely stay again.

We booked a room at the last minute for a birthday and were pleasantly surprised by the cheap triple room. The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and breakfast was good. The pub and rooms could use some TLC, though I’m sure the owner could raise the room prices without a huge investment. It was funny running into an old school friend who works there. Small world!

The music and atmosphere were great, with a roaring fire adding to the evening. We first arrived while the pub was fairly quiet and a band was setting up. The bar lady pointed us to a place for curry, then we came back after eating and found it busy just before the band started. The landlord was really friendly and came over for a chat. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Monmouth.
