We came in for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. The meat was lovely, and there was loads of veg, with cauliflower cheese served separately for the table. Lunch was £17-19. The place was warm and cosy, and I had an amazing pint of Guinness. The staff were friendly and kept offering us more gravy and veg. They also made room for six adults and three babies who walked in without a booking, with no fuss.

We found this place by chance, and I’m glad we did. The staff were warm and really friendly, and they were very helpful with our friend’s dairy intolerance. For under £30, we had three courses of a seriously tasty Sunday lunch, with very generous portions. Easily the best Sunday roast I’ve had in a long time. Definitely worth a visit.

It’s a nice old hotel, though the stairs are difficult if you have mobility issues. There were no sweeteners in the room or restaurant, luckily I always carry some. The central heating is off at night, so it gets cold. I think it’d be better to leave it off until 6 pm and then keep it on all night.

Good value for such a central location. It’s not claiming to be a luxury hotel, but it’s still very comfortable. The pub downstairs was good, the staff were smiling, and breakfast was decent.

We come back here whenever we’re going to Chepstow or Bristol for the wave pool. The Beaufort is a lovely little hotel right in the middle of town, and the location can’t be beaten. The bar is friendly, drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is good quality. For something a bit special in the evening, try to book a table at the Italian restaurant on the river. Otherwise, enjoy your time in Chepstow.
