The rooms have great facilities, and this is a lovely Bed and Breakfast near Harpenden. You can hear aircraft, road traffic and trains in the background, though I stopped noticing the noise as much after a while.

Breakfast was fantastic, and the rooms at Hyde Mill were clean, comfortable and really pleasant. It’s also a handy base for getting around the surrounding areas. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The welcome from the owner was lovely, parking was easy, and the price was very reasonable. I stayed in a converted stable block room: spacious, bright, simply decorated, and spotlessly clean. The high ceiling made it feel even bigger, and both the bedding and towels were excellent quality. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower room was great. Breakfast was excellent too, with fantastic Taylors coffee bags in the room as well as at breakfast, and fresh milk instead of those little plastic pots. The old farmhouse and mill pond make the setting beautiful. Nothing not to like!
