We loved our stay and would happily recommend this place. The garden views are lovely, with lots of wildlife around, and the welcome basket was full of local produce and useful basics for anyone arriving without food. Even our Collie Riley got a treat. It’s a peaceful, beautiful cottage, and you can tell a lot of care has gone into making it comfortable, with everything we needed and more.

We keep coming back each year, and Droop Cottage has started to feel like a second home. It’s peaceful and scenic, with comfortable furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen. David & Tracey are warm, helpful hosts, and they sort out any problems straight away. We also love that it welcomes dogs, and the occasional visit from Alfie the resident Westie is a treat. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in the Dorset countryside.

Alfie’s early morning visits to the back door are hard not to love, and the owners are friendly and welcoming. Their generous welcome pack included delicious homemade Jar-Of marmalade and a mouth-watering chocolate loaf cake. The cottage is spotless and beautifully furnished, a great advert for John Lewis! It’s well placed for exploring Dorset, too. For a Sunday carvery, The Fox Inn is worth a visit, but book ahead and go early. The nearby Plummer Hotel could suit a special occasion. I haven’t come across a bad review of the cottage, which says a lot. We’ll definitely be back.
