We used to stay here often because it was a handy base for visiting family when we came up country. That's over now. I entered my car on the reception device but still got fined for using the car park. Then, somehow, three different devices couldn't access the appeal system. Well done, you got my money, but I won't be back.

We’re here most weekends because it’s convenient for me and my partner, and Sammy at reception is so sweet and accommodating. The hotel is relaxed about food deliveries. There’s also a McDonalds across the road and a Shell petrol station with plenty of drinks, often on offer, so we stock up on water and soft drinks for the night. We find it well placed for eating out, especially in Berkhamstead. It may only be a 3-star hotel, but it’s always superbly clean, has lots of TV channels, and the standard 12 o’clock checkout is a big plus.

We went to the hotel one morning to have breakfast with my Dad, who was visiting the area and staying there. We were seated in the small seating area. After service, the chef came out and checked that everyone still dining had enjoyed their breakfast. We got chatting, and it was lovely to hear how much he cares about the food he prepares and about making diners happy. We’ll definitely come back for dinner or breakfast soon.

The rooms were good, and the service was excellent. The restaurant was really busy, but they still found space for our group of six and welcomed us with a smile.

It’s the usual Premier Inn standard, with really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast in the on-site restaurant was satisfactory. There’s a 24-hour Mcdonalds right alongside, plus a Shell garage with a shop. Pubs are about a fifteen-minute walk away.
